A response to Ralfy and Erik.

Can you trust the judgement of a whiskytuber who accepts free samples? So Ralfy made a video saying he doesn’t accept gifts because he is independent……OK. Erik shared it on Facebook exclaiming he wished the rest of us whiskytubers did the same and would stop who$%*g ourselves out. I thought this a bit general and an unnecessary slight and slant on me and my merry band of fellow whiskytubers. So I tried to discuss it and got censored! This is my response. Please comment below your thoughts and feelings I really want to hear them. I hope we can have a good discussion and learn some things.

At one time Ralfy was easy to listen to. Now it seems that Ralfy has turned himself into a corporation. His latest Whisky of the Year video was one long commercial. How many times did he mention Patreon and his book? I was wondering if he would ever get around to talking about whisky. I now find myself skipping to the end of his videos and looking for his malt mark scores. Sorry, Ralfy has gotten very tedious after ten years.

  Hi Dave, I honestly can’t say I’ve watched a lot of his videos. They were a little, how should I say….dry for me but most reviews are to be fair. He has his own “thing” going and it has worked for him. I think we all try and peddle our wares a bit but I try not to do it too much and not in every video. I dislike that he has become some sort of benchmark that we should all strive to replicate. I’m trying to be different. That all said I do respect Ralfy’s knowledge, it far exceeds my own and I have learned things from some of his videos.
